  Digital Microscopes

If I have 0201 or smaller size components what is the best camera set up?

Best to use a U30s 4K camera with a +5 diopter lenses give you x113 screen magnification.

We will be pleased to advise on other accessories to make an efficient work station.

If I need to inspect at x10 magnification according to IPC-A-610G, what zoom factor should I use with my F30s?

Using an F30 or F30s camera at correct working distance gives the same Field of View as a typical optical microscope at x10 magnification.

We will be pleased to provide additional optical data on request.

Can I see an object X microns in size?

You need to consider magnification and resolution. Generally the 4K camera with quadruple the pixels will be superior for viewing objects smaller than 1mm.

We will be pleased to provide additional optical data on request.

I have a 24x30 inch (310x750 mm) board. What is the best way to see the whole board?

To view and see the entirety of a large object on a screen consider a 500 mm or 1000 mm long working distance version of Inspectis FHD or 4K. camera. Alternatively consider using an XY stand to move the camera over the large object so that a higher level of detail can been seen.

We will be pleased to advise on other accessories to make an efficient work station.

My picture looks a bit blue. How do I get the best colour balance?

Set the white balance with a white sheet of paper using the appropriate WB controls: with no remote control or HD-200 knob controller use the WB button on the camera control panel. When using Inspectis Pro or ProX software the WB can be set in the camera control panel.

Please refer to the user manual for the equipment in use or contact us for assistance.

What is the most efficient way to do a series of visual inspection tests at different levels of magnification?

Using additional lenses requires adjustment of the camera working distance depending on the optical power. For ‘s’ series stand-alone models this is possible on most Inspectis stands but for quick and easy height change the HD-210 track stands provide rack and pinion height adjustment from 35 to 410mm. For the All-in-one cameras with fixed height smaller objects can be raised and lowered using one of the telescopic tables HD-050 or HD-150.

Please contact us for additional information.

What is the highest magnificaion I can get with U30 digital microscopes?

U30/U30s provides 612x on-screen magnification (24″ monitor) with a +56 close-up lens. Field of View is 0.85 x 0.477mm at this magnification.

         Illumination

What is the best lighting for looking at a loaded circuit board?

Generally good work area lighting is sufficient but using oblique supplementary lighting such as HD-125 or HD-126 will give an enhanced contrast and show greater details.

Please contact us for additional information.

How can I see the conformal coating on boards I am inspecting?

Using the HD-125 UV ring light will reveal abnormalities in most conformal coated boards. Can be used used in all but the brightest lit environments although lower than normal levels are beneficial. Always adhere to safety Instructions.

What is the best measurement accuracy I can achieve using a U30/U30s?

Video microscopy can provide a very convenient way of making referenced measurements with useful accuracy given careful adherence to procedures and instructions to minimise error.

We will be pleased to provide additional optical data and detailed instructions on request.

What computer do I need to run Inspectis software?

A little depends on the type of camera being used but generally most Intel Pentium i5 equipped Windows 10 PCs are likely to be suitable.

Please contact us for additional information.

Can I control my camera directly using software?

Inspectis Software Pro, ProX , OAI versions all feature full camera control plus additional features such as pre set memories. Specicific PC control software and and SDK kit are also available.

Please contact us for additional information.

How do I keep my Inspectis software updated?

Purchase of Inspectis software includes 1 year full support and updates. Licensed and registered users will be informed by email of any new release duri;g that period. To maintain your system to maximum performance beyond 1 year we offer extended support contracts.

Please contact us for additional information.

What is the format and file size of captures images?

Inspectis software offers the choice of carefully configured JPG or uncompressed PNG. Select before using in the preferences.

Please refer to the user manual or contact us for assistance.

    Stands & Mounts

How can I get an angled view?

Two basic answers: a) Angle the object using a tilt table HD-029 or HD-150 or b) angle the camera if using a ‘s’ series stand-alone version. Most stands will allow mounting the camera at a fixed angle but there are accessories to aid easier and adjustment in ore than one plane. See HD-061 adaptor or the HD-171 4-direction tilt unit that provides quick, repeatable 30 deg tilt.

How to capture Images and/or Video?

Various solutions are available to capture still images for all Inspectis cameras. C12-C has a built in SD card captures and the HD-150 units can be used with all models. When using 4K series camera using PC software is recomemded. Video may be captured using HD-150 or with some versions of Inspectis software.
